Spend your holiday in the Eisacktal on what is probably the oldest farm in the municipality of Rodeneck – in one of our two newly built holiday apartments. On 50 and 60 square meters respectively, the holiday apartments “Lauterfresser” and “Friedrich der 14. von Rodank” offer plenty of space for the entire family. Here with us, at 1,060 metres above sea level, you will experience the authentic everyday life on a typical South Tyrolean mountain farm and are welcome to lend a hand with stable work, hay making or baking bread in the farm oven.

At the farm Herzleierhof, your holiday day begins with authentic South Tyrolean flavour. Our lovingly prepared breakfast basket brings you farm-made products such as fresh eggs*, homemade fruit spreads* and syrups*, muesli, cake*, yogurt, and fruit – and depending on the season, also fresh fruits and vegetables from our garden. The breakfast is complemented with South Tyrolean milk, butter, honey, tea, coffee, cold cuts, and of course oven-fresh bread rolls from the local village bakery, delivered fresh every day upon request thanks to our bread delivery service straight to your apartment door.
Whether on the terrace or in your holiday flat – enjoy your breakfast without any rush. For just €15–20 per person, your personalised breakfast basket will be ready in the morning – perfect for starting your day full of energy.
While you relax on the sunbathing lawn and breathe in the fresh mountain air, the children play on the playground with swings, slide and trampoline. Where do they get all that energy from? Of course – from breakfast!
By the way: our farm is idyllically located above the Eisack Valley – peaceful, yet well connected. There's a bus stop right in front of the house.

Where today you spend your farm holiday in South Tyrol, until the 13th century stood the fortified tower of Rodenegg Castle. We finally uncovered its ancient foundation walls during the comprehensive renovation in 2024. Over the centuries, the last lord of the castle, Friedrich von Rodank, and several popes lived on the farm. Around 1630, the legendary Lauterfresser was a frequent guest, and later the freedom fighter Matthias Faller lived here for some time.
When we took over the farm Herzleierhof in 2022, one thing was certain: We wanted to preserve the history of the farm and the South Tyrolean mountain farming traditions and share them with our guests.

In our lovingly furnished apartments with fully equipped kitchenette and direct access to the garden – with herb and vegetable beds as well as barbecue facilities – you will spend a wonderful summer holiday. Even in bad weather, the vibes will remain sunny while hay hopping or playing fun games in our stone cellar. In winter, your apartment at the Herzleierhof becomes a cosy retreat after skiing, tobogganing or cross-country skiing.

Conditions & Info
Prices & Conditions
The prices are based on a minimum stay of 3 nights per apartment / night with occupancy of 2 persons.
For each additional adult, we charge €25.00 per night.
The price includes bed linen, hand and bath towels, a fully equipped kitchen, TV, electricity and heating, final cleaning, and all fees and taxes, except for the local tax.
The local tax is calculated based on the municipal regulations in force at the time of your stay (€2,10 per person per day for guests aged 14 and over).
The breakfast basket is charged separately.
Discounts for children
- Children up to 2.99 years stay with us free of charge.
- Children from 3 years to 12 years pay only 12,50 €/night.
- Baby equipment on request.
Pets
Pets are not allowed out of consideration for our next guests.
Booking
Please note: The booking becomes binding when a deposit is paid to confirm the booking (booking guarantee) and the booking confirmation is sent. The deposit will not be refunded in the event of cancellation.
Surcharges & terms of payment
Deposit: We are happy to receive written reservations via e-mail. The reservation becomes valid as soon as the deposit has been paid. Please state your name as the reason for the transfer.
The deposit will not be refunded in the event of cancellation. In addition, the following cancellation conditions apply.
The cost of final cleaning is included in the price.
Payment: Please pay in cash on site.
Arrival & departure conditions
Arrival: We expect you to arrive from 2.00 pm. Of course you can also arrive earlier, but the apartment is only ready for occupancy from 2.00 pm. If you arrive late, please let us know.
Departure: On the day of departure the apartment should be vacated by 10.00 am at the latest. Other times on request.
Cancellations
Cancellation conditions pursuant to Art. 1382 ZGB
There is no right of withdrawal within the meaning of the Italian Consumer Protection Code. Nevertheless, we grant you a right of withdrawal under the following cancellation conditions in accordance with Art. 1382 ZGB:
Up to 3 months before the arrival date at the latest, the reservation can be canceled without payment of a cancellation fee. Only the deposit will be retained. If the guest cancels between the 3rd month and the 4th week before the agreed date of arrival and the date of arrival itself, the guest is obliged to pay the following cancellation fee of 70%. Within 4 weeks before arrival 90%.
If the guest does not show up (“no show”) or if the guest departs early, the fee for the entire booking period is owed in full.
Please inform us in good time if you are unable to start your vacation.
Travel cancellation insurance
We look forward to welcoming you.
Nevertheless, we recommend that you take out “Cancellation protection” when you book your stay. This will cover the cancellation fees and you can look forward to your vacation without any worries.
